Research says the number one factor for change in the counseling room is the therapeutic relationship.
Individual (12 yrs & up)
In individual therapy a client will meet one-on-one with Lauren. This approach is often used with those with anxiety, depression, grief, anger, eating disorders, and life transitions among other issues. Individual therapy can also be very effective in marital counseling when one partner is not ready for treatment.
Couples & Family
Couples come to therapy both for premarital and marital therapy. Lauren listens to their history, presenting concerns and desired outcomes. Additionally, she works with the couple to determine the weightiest issues and biggest priorities. A couple’s strengths are identified and used as levers for change.
A similar approach is also used in family therapy. At times Lauren may meet individually with the identified client, or just with the parents/guardians or with the entire family in a session. Family structure and patterns are addressed with the family’s input for healthy outcomes.
Mothergood is virtual group therapy for new moms. Moms of babies up to 12 months meet online with Lauren and other new moms for 6 weeks to cover a variety of topics relevant to this major life transition. This group is based on the counseling concept of being a “good enough” mom and offers solace to those who are struggling.
